Microsoft is determined to put artificial intelligence on every floor. The firm presents a new tool, Bing Image Creator, which allows to generate images with a simple text.

At Microsoft, artificial intelligence is the focus of all efforts. The new Bing is powered by GPT-4 while Word, Excel, PowerPoint and others are also using AI with Copilot. The Redmond firm is now going one step further with Bing Image Creator. The name says it all.

With Bing Image Creator, you are invited to generate images thanks to artificial intelligence in the manner of what we already see on the very impressive Midjourney. Note here that Bing Image Creator is based on the same model as Dall-E, an image generator powered by OpenAI – the same company behind GPT-4.

This new Bing feature “allows you to create an image simply by using your own words to describe the image you want to see. These new interactions happen in the same place as the intelligent text answers the search engine can provide. “You can now generate both written and visual content in one place, from within the chat,” the release reads.

“Research has shown that the human brain processes visual information about 60,000 times faster than text, making visual tools an essential way to search, create and understand. According to Bing data, images are one of the most searched categories, second only to general web searches. Historically, search was limited to images that already existed on the web. Today, there are virtually no limits to search and creation.”

Bing Image Creator will be available in the preview of the new Bing for those who have registered. Initially, the tool will be available in the Creative mode. Then, this preview of the feature “will also be available in Microsoft Edge”.

This will make it “the first and only browser with a built-in AI-powered image generator. To use Bing Image Creator in Edge, simply click the Bing Image Creator icon in the sidebar to create your image or invoke it from the Bing chat in Edge.”
